Tara's new school! She starts tomorrow, Monday 7 January 2008. It is the Swiss International School - Zurich North, in Wallisellen.
Tara is so ready to continue the fourth grade with her new classmates, eight in all. During our visit to the school earlier in December, she made friends with one of her new classmates.
She will be learning German this year along with her other subjects. The school teaches all subjects in English but most attending speak two or more languages. Her new friend speaks four!
Teri is preparing for an interview with the Chief Risk Officer of Swiss Re which will be taped and posted to their internal Web. I am meeting this week with the HR folks at Zurich to go over the contract for hire.
Yesterday, we took the rental car back to the airport. On the way back on the train, we met a very nice Swiss lady who was coming back from Germany. She came up to me on the platform and started rattling off a string of German. I must of looked perplexed as she turned to Teri and asked in English if we could assist her onto the train with her bags. During the ride she went on and on about the US presidential election, the Pope and how less safe it is in Swizerland today.
Not certain how this was all connected. We've found the streets here very safe and the people very helpful. One of our new neghbors in fact helped us into the building after I screwed up the lock on the door trying to unlock it.
Hope all is well back home. Write us when you can.
Bob
